Cincinnati Weather Service: Mild Temperatures Persist Until Late Week
A delayed cold front keeps highs near 70 degrees through Wednesday, extending a dry spell that may deepen regional drought conditions.

A weak cold front crossed the Cincinnati area early Friday morning, shifting winds to the north and bringing scattered clouds. Despite the frontal passage, daytime temperatures remained well above average, with afternoon highs reaching the low 70s. The dry, comfortable conditions supported high school football playoff games held across the region.
Forecasters expect Saturday to bring increased cloud cover but minimal precipitation, limiting rain chances to occasional sprinkles during evening hours. Afternoon highs should hover near 70 degrees, eliminating the need for heavy outerwear or umbrellas for residents participating in trick-or-treating. The weekend schedule coincides with the annual transition to standard time, requiring residents to adjust their clocks before bed.
Sunday skies are projected to remain mostly cloudy for the Cincinnati Bengals game. While a late-day sprinkle is possible, most areas should stay dry. Temperatures will continue to hold near 70 degrees. This mild pattern is the result of a significantly delayed cold front, which has pushed back the arrival of cooler air. As a consequence, temperatures are expected to remain 10 degrees above average through Wednesday, prolonging the current streak of dry days.
Meteorologists warn that the extended dry period may worsen existing drought conditions in the region. The long-awaited cold front is finally expected to arrive with rain and thunderstorms from late Wednesday through Thursday. Heavy rainfall is possible during this window. Temperatures will drop sharply following the system, with highs by the following weekend falling to the low to mid 50s.
