The Indianapolis Colts are not actively shopping star running back Jonathan Taylor ahead of the November 10 trade deadline, according to NFL on CBS reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala. This stands in contrast to the front office's recent aggressive moves to sell off other veteran stars.

The trade speculation intensified after the Colts moved two defensive pillars this week. The team traded DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick. They also sent Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, receiving a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick in return.

Kinkhabwala reported that the team has received calls inquiring about Taylor's availability since those deals were finalized. However, she stated that the Colts assured her they are not seeking to move the running back. The franchise appears to want a substantial return before agreeing to such a trade, given Taylor's standing as one of the league's top backs.

The uncertainty surrounding Taylor's future has prompted a meeting with team owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon earlier this week. Irsay-Gordon did not give the player any guarantees that he would remain in Indianapolis. Taylor, in turn, reaffirmed his affection for the organization to the owner.

Taylor is a 2020 second-round pick out of Wisconsin who has spent the first seven years of his professional career with the Colts. The 27-year-old led the league with 18 rushing touchdowns last season and surpassed 1,000 yards for the fourth time in his career.

In the current 2026 campaign, Taylor enters Week 8 with 587 rushing yards and a league-leading eight rushing touchdowns. Reports indicate that the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, and Seattle Seahawks have shown interest in acquiring him.

The trade deadline is set for November 10. The Colts have no confirmed plans to negotiate a deal before that date, leaving Taylor's status in Indianapolis undecided until the final days of the window.
