Jennifer Lawrence has officially confirmed her return to the Hunger Games franchise. She will reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen in the new prequel titled In Sunrise on the Reaping. This announcement resolves long-standing rumors regarding her involvement in the project, which is scheduled for a wide theatrical release in November.

Lawrence revealed the news during a recent interview with Alex Cooper, host of the Call Her Daddy podcast. She described the production experience as "unbelievable" and noted that the atmosphere on set remained familiar. Many of the same individuals from the original films are working on the new picture. "It was the same crew. It was the same camera guys, the same AD, who I've worked with a million times," Lawrence said.

The reunion with former co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson was a central focus of the conversation. Lawrence stated that reconnecting with Hutcherson was "so emotional." She recalled that the two actors frequently walked with their arms around each other while on set. "It was so beautiful," she added.

Harrelson also returned to the franchise. Lawrence recounted a specific interaction where Harrelson made his entrance through the window of her hotel room rather than the door. She joked that the moment would not have felt authentic if he had respected standard boundaries. "It wouldn't be the same if he listened to boundaries and used a door," she said.

During the interview, Lawrence also revisited a notable incident from the production of Mockingjay. In 2013, she cut her hair into a short pixie style as a form of protest. Producers had initially declined to provide a wig for the role, causing fatigue from repeated hair dyeing. She described the resulting look as "the worst haircut anyone has ever seen in their life," a style that gained widespread recognition.

In Sunrise on the Reaping is set 24 years before the events of the original film. The plot centers on 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada. He competes in the 50th Hunger Games, a special event known as the Second Quarter Quell. In this edition of the games, the number of tributes forced to fight is doubled.

Ralph Fiennes appears in the film as President Snow. The movie is expected to include legacy characters from the original series through flashforwards or a framing device. In Sunrise on the Reaping opens in theaters on Nov. 20.
