Northeast Ohio starts November with temperatures up to 20 degrees above normal
A warm stretch ending Tuesday will precede a sharp drop in temperatures and increased rain chances later in the week.

Northeast Ohioers will experience temperatures ranging from 10 to nearly 20 degrees above seasonal averages for the first several days of November. This unusual warmth is setting a distinct baseline for the new month before a major weather pattern shift takes hold. The forecast indicates a clear division between a warm start and a colder finish to the work week. The region is preparing for a transition that will bring both record high temperatures and a return to seasonable conditions.
Meteorologists project high temperatures will climb into the 70s for the initial days of the month. Specifically, Monday will see highs in the mid to upper 60s, with a few locations potentially reaching the lower 70s. Tuesday, which coincides with Election Day, is forecast to be the warmest and driest day of the week. Residents can expect a high of 75 degrees on that day, making it the peak of the warm spell. This sustained above average heat is rare for the beginning of November in the area.
The warmth will not persist beyond Tuesday. A significant pattern shift is expected to bring more substantial rain potential to the region during the middle and end of the week. Wednesday will mark the arrival of this change, with rain moving in and a high of 73 degrees. The threat of heavy rain increases on this day, signaling the end of the dry, warm period. By Thursday, temperatures will begin to cool as few showers continue to affect the area. The high is expected to drop to 67 degrees, indicating a noticeable shift in the weather profile.
Cooler, more seasonable air mass will move in for Friday and the upcoming weekend. This change will bring isolated showers and lower temperatures that align with typical November readings. Highs are expected to fall to 59 degrees by the end of the week, a stark contrast to the 75 degrees predicted for Tuesday. This rapid cooling demonstrates the volatility of the current weather system. The week will effectively split into two distinct halves: a warm, dry start and a cool, wet finish.
The West Region, which includes Lorain, Medina, Erie, Huron, Richland, and Ashland Counties, will experience mostly cloudy skies this evening. A shower chance remains through dawn on Monday. Temperatures in this specific area will be mild, with many locations in the lower 50s by early Monday morning. A few spots in the region may see temperatures drop to the upper 40s. This localized detail provides context for how the broader regional forecast manifests in specific counties.
The five day forecast breaks down the specific conditions for each day. Monday brings a slim chance of a shower under mostly cloudy skies, with a high of 69 degrees. Tuesday follows with mostly cloudy conditions and a warmer high of 75 degrees. Wednesday sees rain moving in with a high of 73 degrees. Thursday will have few showers and a high of 67 degrees. Friday concludes the week with isolated showers and a seasonable high of 59 degrees. These specific numbers allow for precise planning ahead of the weekend.
The Cleveland Metro Region, encompassing Cuyahoga County and cities such as Cleveland, Parma, and Strongsville, will follow a similar trajectory. The Akron Canton Region, including Summit, Stark, and Portage Counties, will also experience these shifts. The Snowbelt Region, covering Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula Counties, will see the same warm start and cool finish. The South Region, comprising Wayne, Holmes, Tuscarawas, and Carroll Counties, will not be immune to the temperature swing. All five distinct regions of Northeast Ohio will feel the impact of this early November anomaly.
