Milwaukee leads the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 in the World Series after a 10-1 victory on Monday night at Tropicana Field. The Brewers are now one win away from their first title in franchise history. The team outscored Tampa Bay 18-4 across the first three games.

Jackson Chourio drove in two runs and collected four hits in five at-bats. He opened the decisive fifth inning with a single and later stole second base. Manager Pat Murphy called Chourio “tremendous” and noted the player has eight hits in three series games. Chourio finished the game with a double and a stolen base, becoming the second-youngest player to record four hits and a steal in a World Series game.

Rookie left-hander Robert Gasser pitched six scoreless innings and allowed only one hit. He faced 18 batters, the minimum possible, to retire them. Gasser became the first starter to face the minimum through six innings of a World Series game since Curt Schilling in 2001. He also became the first left-handed pitcher to achieve that feat since Sandy Koufax in 1965.

The Brewers scored eight runs in the fifth inning, all with two outs. It marked the first time in World Series history that a team scored eight two-out runs in a single inning. Brice Turang broke the inning open with a two-run single after a replay review overturned a forceout at second base. Cooper Pratt and Sal Frelick followed with multi-run hits to extend the lead to 8-0.

Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash said the team must win Tuesday night to stay alive. He described the situation as having a chip and a chair mentality, noting the team must do something with the chip. The Rays had won 98 games in the regular season and swept their first two postseason series but have dropped two straight World Series games at home.

Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay will start Griffin Jax, while the Brewers have not yet announced their pitcher. Milwaukee has won eight straight postseason games and four straight on the road. A victory in Game 4 would make the Brewers the first team to sweep both the league championship series and the World Series since the 1976 Cincinnati Reds.
